Gmote on HTC Wildfire

Gmote turns Android into a remote control for a computer, allowing users to run movies and music at a distance. It supports all of the standard remote control features such as play, pause, rewind, volume controls etc. It also has a built-in file browser that lets you select what to play.


Linux (requires VLC player in /usr/bin/vlc)
*run GmoteServer.sh after unzipping



From the computer you wish to control, download and install the Gmote Server

1. sudo add-apt-repository ppa:team-xbmc/pp
2. sudo apt-get update
3. sudo apt-get install xbmc

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pdfmod-team/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install pdfmod

*modify pdf

gThumb

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/gthumb
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gthumb

*photo manager for gnome

Mechanig

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kokoto-java/usu-extras
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install mechanig

• Refresh repositories
• Upgrades packages
• Removes unnesseary pacakges
• Removes pacakges that can not be installed from the package list (apt-get autoclean)
• Removes Deb files downloaded by apt
• Opimizes apt
• Optimizes ram
